Project SummaryThe goal of this project is to create and an open educational resource –An Undergraduate Research Manual– to support research training across the Honours, self-directed studies and the Advanced Research Cohort in the Department of Sociology and the Faculty of Arts. The resource will offer practical, step-by-step guidance covering the full spectrum of the research process and will initially cover 12 topic areas from How to Generate and Develop Original Research Ideas to Disseminating results and publication. It will bring together other OER resources in a tailored way to meet students’ needs. The project will also create supporting materials for students and instructors, including PowerPoint slides, worksheets, checklists, activities. The manual will be published online via Pressbooks. The OER resource will benefit the expansion of undergraduate research programs/courses in the Department of Sociology
