Project SummaryThis project aims to create a series of content modules covering the main field of study in psychology. These modules will include the H5P formative assessment pieces (developed as part of the BCcampus H5P Development Grant). It is the intention that these modules can be used in almost every psychology course offered at UBC. Moreover, these modules will be made freely available for others outside of UBC to use. These modules will be created using the material found in the OpenStax Psychology text as well as the H5P formative assessment pieces developed through the BCcampus Develop Grant. These modules will serve the function of an interactive chapter synopsis highlighting the most important studies and theories in a given psychological field of study. Thus, we aim for these modules to serve three functions. As students move on from their first year studies, many would benefit from, short, interactive content refreshers before embarking on upper-level courses. As such, providing formative assessment pieces in conjunction with synopsized content covering the main theories in a given psychological field can only be of benefit to students heading into upper-level courses. These modules will also be freely available to all Psychology faculty at UBC allowing them to adopt them as extra content and practice for their students in their own introductory psychology courses. Lastly, all content will be openly licensed and shared on Canvas Commons. This will allow other instructors free access to the modules and their associative formative assessment.
