Faculty and staff in Vancouver are invited to submit proposals for grants that support the use of open educational resources (OER) in UBC Vancouver credit courses. OER are freely accessible educational materials that permit open use, modification, and adaptation. Since 2019, over $991,000 in OER grant funding has been awarded to 96 projects across 12 Vancouver Faculties or units. To learn more about the fund, please visit https://oerfund.open.ubc.ca/.
OER Affordability Grants
Grants of up to $25,000 are available for UBC Vancouver faculty who wish to address course material affordability and access, through the incorporation of OER, as required materials into their credit courses. OER Rapid Innovation Grants
Grants of up to $2,000 are available to faculty, staff and students for innovative activities that increase OER use and capacity building at UBC Vancouver.
