Funding Year2024
Project SummaryThis project provides an open, collaborative, and interactive timeline displaying theoretical developments in anthropology as well as the context and events that shaped them. This OER, intended for anthropology students and instructors within and beyond UBC, allows students to explore developments in a dynamic and visually appealing format, enhancing student engagement. This improves the accessibility of course teachings by displaying complex information in concise and diverse forms; enabling users to customize their viewing experience; offering a richer understanding of subject matter by integrating various media (text, images, videos, links); and allowing users to focus on specific periods, theories, or events of interest. The resource enables a collaborative approach to content creation, facilitating contributions that build the resource with ongoing updates. It also details the context and relations between theoretical developments, affording an analytical tool to identify patterns, trends, and significant turning points within the history of anthropology.
