Engineering Economics – Practice Problems (and Solutions) for Students

Project TitleEngineering Economics – Practice Problems (and Solutions) for Students
Principal InvestigatorTamara Etmannski

Funding Year2024
Project SummaryIn the summer of 2023, open educational resource (OER) materials were developed to serve as a textbook replacement. Following their implementation, it became evident that further work is needed to enhance the
content, particularly by increasing the number of practice problems available to students. Traditional textbooks typically provide between 20 to 50 practice problems per chapter, while the initial development of the OER materials included only 10 questions per chapter. To ensure that these resources are fully comparable to conventional textbooks in terms of supporting student learning, this project aims to expand the practice problem set by adding an additional 20 questions per chapter (minimum). This expansion will align the OER materials with the level of rigor and comprehensiveness expected from standard textbooks.
