Project SummaryThis project is the first stage in the development of an open access global sociology textbook to be required in sections of SOCI 100, SOCI 101 and SOCI 102 at UBC. During the initial funding stage, two open access course readings will be written by UBC faculty in collaboration with a team of scholars around the world trained in different sociological traditions. This international authorship approach to creating open resources will enable outputs that support students’ development of a critical global perspective for addressing trans-national social problems. Materials will be free and available for all collaborators, their students, and the wider sociology community.
